The Butchery

Our story is one of passion, and a commitment to bringing the highest quality ingredients to those who truly appreciate them. Moving to California from Boston, co-founder Brian Smith saw that the neighborhood butcher shops he had known and worked in growing up in New England had evolved into big-box grocery stores selling mass-produced prepackaged meat.

Brian and partner Robert Hagopian are avid home-cooks who wanted access to the same quality cuts available in the best restaurants and steakhouses in the world. So, in 2014 they opened their first Location in Costa Mesa with a singular goal: to offer the finest meats and ingredients to everyone from discerning home cooks to the most elite culinary professionals. Since then, their vision has grown into four locations including a Manhattan Beach shop soon to join the fold.
